i think you deserve your own little planet earth that you can call your home of self-destruction
but my words probably don't mean jack to you, but at least i tried
because you'd rather cry than listen

if you don't like the way things are, then you should put your fireflies in a jar
because truth be told, you're the greater good and i need to know why you keep yourself so far away

you've got so many friends and so little time, but worst of all, you can't see the confines that you've gone and set, with no instructions
and i thought you'd relate to me when i opened up my heart to you and me as a distraction

and if you don't like the way things are, then you should put your fireflies in a jar
because truth be told, you're the greater good and i need to know why you keep yourself so far
away from the people who care about your well being and the things you say out loud
but i'll be here when the sky comes, i'll be here when the sky comes crashing down
